Prof. Dr. Halil Ibrahim Bekler

Prof. Dr. Halil Ibrahim Bekler was born in Istanbul in 1960. He completed his primary school education in Istanbul. He finished High School in Saint-Joseph in 1979. In 1985 he graduated from the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. In the same year, he started to work as a resident doctor in Tokat Akbelen Health Center. Between 1987 and 1991, he specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology in Şişli Etfal Hospital. Between 1993 and 1994, he worked as an assistant professor at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine in Diyarbakır, Turkey. Later, he worked as the Head of the Hand Surgery Department in American Hospital. In 1999, he studied microsurgery at Cleveland Medical Center.
Prof. Dr. Halil Ibrahim Bekler worked as a specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology and Hand Microsurgery in many private hospitals in Istanbul. Between 2006-2007, he worked as a Hand and Microsurgery Specialist at Columbia University School of Medicine. In 2008, he became an associate professor of orthopedics at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine. Between 2009 and 2015, he worked as Chief of Orthopedics in Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Hospital and he trained many Assistant Specialists. He became Professor in 2016. He works in Avicenna Ataşehir Hospital as an Orthopedics and Traumatology and Hand and Microsurgery specialist.
Also, he is a member of the following organizations; AAOS (American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons), EFORT (European Federation of National Associations of Orthopedics and Traumatology), FESSH (Federation of European Society for Surgery of the Hand), and many others.
