Acibadem CityClinic Tokuda Hospital is the largest medical institution in Bulgaria, built and developed with private investments. Inaugurated on the 28th of November of 2006 as part of the health group of Japanese doctor and entrepreneur Dr. Torao Tokuda.
The inauguration of Tokuda Hospital in 2006 is the largest investment in healthcare, such had not been made in Bulgaria in more than 30 years. In 2006, the hospital won the Investment of the Year award, and later in the same year it was awarded the prestigious Building of the Year award.
Acibadem CityClinic Tokuda Hospital is accredited to the international standard for quality and safety in healthcare by JCI (Joint Commission International). Since July of 2013, the hospital is recognized as a Scientific Organization by the Ministry of Science and Education, with opportunities for conducting doctoral programs and procedures for occupying academic positions. Tokuda Hospital has won numerous national and international honors and awards.
As of 2016 it is part of the largest group of medical establishments in the country – Acibadem CityClinic, which includes 4 hospitals, 4 medical centers, over 2500 medical specialists (700 of which doctors), and 750 beds. Acibadem CityClinic is part of the Acibadem Healthcare Group, one of the largest in Turkey. Globally, the chain is part of the Malaysia-based public company IHH Healthcare Berhad.
