Dr. Stoyan Stefanov

Dr. Stoyan Stefanov is a specialist cardiologist with a European certificate for specialty in Cardiology.

He is a part of the team of professionals at “Saint Catherine” Medical Center, at “Prof. Dr. Alexander Chirkov” hospital, and “Children’s Health” Medical Center, at “Zdraveto” hospital.

During the years of his professional development, Dr. Stoyan Stefanov conducted numerous additional trainings and qualifications in Bulgaria and Germany. He also participated as a speaker in a number of national and international events. He has won numerous awards for achievements in his specialty, including for scientific materials presented at national and international competitions. Reviewer of scientific articles for “Bulgarian Cardiology” Magazine. Author of the “Cardiology” section for the upcoming edition of “Bulgarian Encyclopedia A-Z”, at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS). He speaks English.

Education :

Graduated from Medical University – Sofia in 2017.

Acquired a specialty in Cardiology in 2022, after specialization at the National Cardiology Hospital – Sofia.

Acquired a European specialty in Cardiology in 2023, after successfully passing an international exam from the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).

In 2023, he was elected to the academic position of “Assistant professor” in Cardiology at the Medical University – Sofia.

Skills

Dr. Stefanov has gained extensive clinical and practical experience in all sub-divisions of the Cardiology field, including: invasive cardiology, electrophysiology, echocardiography, emergency cardiology, CCU, ICU, cardiac resuscitation, non-invasive diagnostics, post-operative care and rehabilitation. However, Dr. Stefanov places the prevention and prophylaxis of cardiovascular diseases as a top priority for his patients.
